The Concours International de Lyon is back for two days of tasting!
As the capital of the senses and taste, Lyon provides a prestigious setting to select the world's best wines, beers and spirits. The craze continues unabated, with 10,390 samples from 55 countries across all categories in 2025.
The 17th edition will be held on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 March 2026 at the Cité Internationale in Lyon!
This international competition will welcome judges from around the world who will taste and rate wines, beers and spirits from all over the globe. The best in each category could end up winning a gold or silver medal.
At the end of the competition, the highest-rated product from each country and each French region will be awarded a special prize.
A rigorous and prestigious evaluation
The judges are the backbone of the Lyon Competition. The jury, composed of a balance of industry professionals and experienced amateurs, will taste the samples in groups of four and award a score out of 100.
The tastings are done blind. The quality manager will ensure that the samples are tasted in strict compliance with the rules of the Concours International de Lyon and ISO9001 certification procedures. The assurance of rigorous selection and organisation is a guarantee of quality and confidence for consumers and professionals in the wine, beer and spirits sectors.
A president honouring Lyon's gastronomy.
Every year, the honorary presidency is alternately given to a renowned chef or sommelier whose aim is to promote the competition through the media and their profession.
In 2026, the presidency of the competition will be entrusted to Olivier Canal, chef at La Meunière restaurant and president of the Bouchons Lyonnais association.
An increasingly popular competition
Carrying on from previous years, the 2025 edition was once again a resounding success: nearly 10,390 samples were entered in all categories, including 5,350 wines, 1,640 beers and 890 spirits from 55 countries.
