Special report on wine competitions in La Vigne magazine: The Lyon International Competition is given as an example!
This past October the wine world’s monthly magazine, La Vigne, devoted its special report to wine competitions.
Reporter Chantal Sarrazin focused on new competitions that are just becoming well-known, and on more established competitions that stay in the limelight by innovating.
The report uses interviews with wine makers, sellers and buyers to demonstrate the advantages of wine competitions. In one such interview, Victor Gomez, the director of Lyon International Competition, explained how his competition has grown and developed. Two key factors emerged: organisation and communication. Competitions must be perfectly orchestrated, and communication on competition winners must be directed at professionals in the field.
A report to read for an overall view of French wine competitions.
