The Concours International de Lyon for Cheese and Dairy Products is happy to announce the award-winners for 2024!
The last edition of the Concours International de Lyon of Cheese and Dairy Products took place on November 24th, 2023!
The competition, hold at the Cité internationale, Lyon, gathered more than 400 tasters and was supervised by an independent inspector. Josiane Déal, Meilleur Ouvrier de France Cheesemonger, supervised the competition and passed on his know-how as an Honorary President. She was assisted by the Commissioner General, Didier Lassagne, Meilleur Ouvrier de France Cheesemonger.
The Quality Manager defined strict procedures to protect the health of our tasters and team. All the samples were tasted in conformity with stringent hygiene measures, competition regulations and our ISO9001 certification.
A total of 1713 samples including 1224 cheeses, 419dairy products and 70 frozen products were judged by professional and enlightened amateur tasters and 522 products were awarded Gold and Silver medals.
Cheeses
377 Gold and Silver medals awarded to Cheeses. The contest was a resounding success with 1124 cheeses presented! Trophies were also awarded to the best Cheeses in each country, and a special Trophy has honoured the best Cheese, all countries combined.
The best cheese in all categories is… The Maroilles AOP from Lesire & Roger which receives this ultimate distinction within the category Maroilles AOP Gros

Dairy Products
124 gold and silver medals awarded to Dairy Products out of the 419 that were tasted by our juries!Among those dairy products, 70 frozen creams, yoghurt and desserts were tasted and 21 samples were awarded Gold and Silver medals.
A trophy awarded to the best Dairy Product!
A special trophy has been awarded to the best Dairy Productof the competition, all countries combined.It has been awarded to Isigny St-Mère with its Crème Fraiche d’Isigny AOP 35%, in the cream category.
Facts and figures
Under the honorary presidency of Josiane Déal, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, a total of:
1713 samples were tasted: 1224 cheeses,419 produits dairy products, and 70 frozen products competed in almost 360 categories, an increase of more than 32%.
522 samples were awarded medals
452 products came from other countries, primarily Spain and Italy but also Switzerland.
17 countries were represented at the competition.
