16th edition of the Concours International de Lyon : Results are online !

1 100 tasters from all over the world gathered at the Cité Internationale for the 15th Concours International de Lyon for Wines, Beers and Spirits on the 21st and 22nd of March 2025.

Under the watchful eye of the Commissioner General and the supervision of an independent inspector, more than 7,580 samples were judged by our professional tasters and connoisseurs. All samples were tasted in
conformity with strict hygiene measures, competition regulations and our ISO9001 certification.
At the end of the tasting, 72 trophies and around 2540 Gold and Silver medals were awarded to producers in all categories.


An international competition
The competition’s international scope was confirmed by the participation of 55 countries including : France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, China, Canada, Guatemala, Georgia, Japan or Brasil.



Wines
The wine competition confirmed its success with nearly 5,333 samples tasted. In all, our tasters awarded 1740 Gold and Silver medals. The best wines from each country and for each French designation were also awarded: 34 trophies.
The best wine in the competition, all countries combined, was the J.García Carrión 1890 - Pata Negra DO Valdepeñas Reserva 2018

Spirits
Nearly 900 samples of spirits have been tasted and marked. The Rhum arrangé category stood out with 119 samples. 291 spirits were awarded Gold and Silver medals, and 21 trophies were awarded.
The best spirit of the competition from any country is a Grüne Walnuss-Likör from BRENNEREI BREIG, Edelbrände & Liköre Barrel Aged Gin : Aldo 52—Solera Reserve from Sempervivum Distillery, based in Germany.

Beers
With nearly 1,630 samples submitted, the beer competition has established itself as an unmissable showcase of the world’s best beers. A total of 510 Gold and Silver medals were awarded and 18 beers received a trophy. The best beer of the competition from all countries was the beer « Laisses tes mains sur » from Brasserie La Franche, produced in France.

Sommelier Trophy
This year, the competition awarded a Sommelier Trophy to a duo of sommellerie students. A grant of 1,000 euros was awarded to Mathis Bouillard and Nolann Cuvillier. The students wrote a complete report on beers from the Bruxelles region and their travel project, then explained the reasons for their choice in an oral presentation.



Key numbers
A total of 5,333 wines, 1,631 beers and 890 spirits were tasted. 2,550 Gold and Silver medals and 72 trophies were awarded. 54 countries were represented.1 200 tasters from 39 nationalities were present.
