This year the honorary president of the Lyon International Competition will be Denis Verneau, head sommelier at Lyon’s ‘Mère Brazier’ restaurant (2 Michelin stars). The enthusiastic and ever-so-professional wine-taster Denis Verneau was a finalist in the Best Sommelier of France competition, and is now in the running for Meilleur Ouvrier de France. Who better than a sommelier from Lyon to preside over the Lyon competition and make it - and this city famed for its gastronomy - even more widely known?

Annual meeting of the professionals, the next session of the Lyon International Competition will take place on Saturday March 21, 2015 in the Cité Internationale in Lyon, France. As every year, many tasting experts and connoisseurs will select the best wines in the world, and until the next competition the selection of the best beers, drinks and spirits.

Supported by influential partners (Toques Blanches Lyonnaises, Association des Sommeliers Lyonnais, Metro) and presided by famous chefs and sommeliers, the competition shows the attention paid by catering professionals to choose products.
The competition's growth is remarkable and its reputation has become global. In fact, the 2014 competition has registered a very strong participation of foreign products: more than 22 countries are now represented at the competition.
