Born in Yamanashi, Japan, Tsuyoshi Arai earned his stripes as a chef under Hiroyuki Sakai, a great name in French gastronomy in Japan.

Tsuyoshi Arai, who has proudly displayed his Michelin star since 2011, likes to join together the two countries dear to his heart: Japan and France.
He refers to his cuisine as “a refined and natural cuisine in which products are brought to the pinnacle of perfection with carefully mastered cooking”.
He has a vivid imagination that he puts to use in creating tasty Franco-Japanese dishes.

Tsuyoshi Arai chose to set up shop in the capital of gastronomy, in the cobblestone streets of Old Town Lyon, to “let his inspiration blossom” as he says.
He is now a member of the ‘Toques Blanches Lyonnaises”, France’s most famous chefs’ association.
