The Lyon International Competition continues to be a great success.
The awards it grants to wines, beers and spirits already carry real weight. Now the competition is forging ahead by including cheese and dairy products in its selection for the first time.
The first edition of the Lyon International Competition for Cheese and Dairy Products will take place on 27 November 2020, at the Cité Internationale in Lyon.
Lyon is well known as the capital of the senses and of taste, so the city is a perfect place for the selection of the world’s best products: the best wines, beers and spirits, and soon cheese and other dairy products as well.
In 2021, the presidency was entrusted to Christian Janier, Meilleur Ouvrier de France Fromager. Originally from Lyon, this true enthusiast of cheesemaking has made Maison Janier grow by becoming repiner-wholesaler. The Janier range brings together nearly 250 cheeses from France and Europe with a single watchword: excellence through the requirement of origin.
