This international competition welcomes jurors from across the world to Lyon to taste and mark wines, beers and spirits of all types. The best in each category are awarded a Gold or Silver Medal. An increasingly successful competition.
For many years now, the Concours International de Lyon has seen a steady increase in the number of samples presented. The Competition will take place over two days.
Since 2020, the Competition has become even more delicious with the inclusion of cheese and dairy products. The Cheese and Dairy Products selection was already highly successful on November 24th, 2023. 1,713 samples were tasted; 522 Gold and Silver medals, and 13 trophies, were awarded.
A President who does honour to Lyon’s gastronomy.
Each year, a famous chef or sommelier is selected as the honorary president of the Competition, to spread its renown and attract the attention of the press and professionals.
For the 2024 edition of the Competition, the presidency has been entrusted to Joseph Viola, Meilleur Ouvrier de France. At the head of Lyon's three bouchons Daniel & Denise, the chef honours the flavours of these legendary French dishes with finesse, elegance and generosity in a friendly atmosphere.
Under control tasting.
The quality manager will make sure all samples are tasted in compliance with very strict Concours de Lyon regulations and ISO9001 certification. The assurance of rigorous selection and organisation is a guarantee of quality and instils trust in consumers and wines, beers and spirits professionals.
