Chez Périer is the family restaurant where Florence Périer first discovered and fell in love with Lyon’s cuisine. A member of the Toques Blanches Lyonnaises and ambassador for the Mères Lyonnaises, since 2009 Florence has perpetuated the art of local gastronomy with simplicity, love, and humour at the Café du Peintre.

There is not a bit of fussiness at Florence’s restaurant, except when it comes to selecting products: everything must be fresh from the local market! As a true Mère Lyonnaise, Florence naturally heads for the market at daybreak, to get a head start on the day’s fare: veal blanquette, sauté of pork cheeks, breaded lamb brains, and other famous dishes. It’s a cuisine based on short distribution channels, with local products and local specialties that Florence sometimes serves herself.

Florence wanted to get back to her culinary roots. She has done so with smashing success: not only is her restaurant one of Lyon’s finest Bouchons, but her son Maxime is also perpetuating this simple and generous spirit. Maxime’s wine list has 1200 references, which include his own selection of ‘show-stoppers’ to be enjoyed with good food and good friends.
