17th edition of the Concours International de Lyon : Results are online !

1 000 tasters from all over the world gathered at the Cité Internationale for the 17th Concours International de Lyon for Wines, Beers and Spirits on the 16th and 17th of March 2026.


Under the watchful eye of the Commissioner General and the supervision of an independent inspector, more than 7,370 samples were judged by our professional tasters and connoisseurs. All samples were tasted in conformity with strict hygiene measures, competition regulations and our ISO9001 certification.
At the end of the tasting, 68 trophies and around 2377 Gold and Silver medals were awarded to producers in all categories.


An international competition


The competition’s international scope was confirmed by the participation of 58 countries including : France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Cambodia, Armenia, Ivory Coast, Japan or Brasil.


Wines


The wine competition confirmed its success with nearly 4,790 samples tasted. In all, our tasters awarded 1,573 Gold and Silver medals. The best wines from each country and for each French designation were also awarded: 31 trophies.
The best wine in the competition, all countries combined, was the .Domaine Fernand Engel - AOP Alsace Riesling Réserve 2024

Spirits


Nearly 1,000 samples of spirits have been tasted and marked. 328 spirits were awarded Gold and Silver medals, and 23 trophies were awarded.
The best spirit of the competition from any country is a Spice Liqueur from Controvento SAS : Sapori Sole, based in Italy.

Beers


With nearly 1,580 samples submitted, the beer competition has established itself as an unmissable showcase of the world’s best beers. A total of 476 Gold and Silver medals were awarded and 14 beers received a trophy. The best beer of the competition from all countries was the beer Imperial red Ale from Browar Port Gdynia, produced in Poland.

Sommelier Trophy


This year, the competition awarded a Sommelier Trophy to a duo of sommellerie students. 
A grant of 1,000 euros was awarded to Héloïse Chery and Laurine Silvestre. 


The students wrote a complete report on Aquavit from Norway and their travel project, then explained the reasons for their choice in an oral presentation.

A total of 4,790 wines, 1,580 beers and 1,000 spirits were tasted. 2,377 Gold and Silver medals and 68 trophies were awarded. 58 countries were represented 1,000 tasters from 34 nationalities were present.
